Abba Cakes is an independent Cake Shop with locations in Hoylake Wirral & Chester owned and run by Laura Alejandra a Colombian born patisserie chef who has operated in 3 countries over 15 years.
Initially established in Colombia, Laura has perfected her baking, cake flavours and designs with core essence of Latin and Mediterranean style.
Laura specialises in designing cakes & desserts for weddings, birthdays, special events or everyday occasions. Abba Cakes also provides catering services including grazing tables with a high-quality choice of cakes and charcuterie selection.
Abba Cakes provides catering services and commissioned cake deliveries to Wirral, Liverpool, Chester, North Wales and surrounding areas.
Abba Cakes recently won the top award at ‘Britain’s Best Cake’ Awards 2025 and now our popular Chocolate Cake officially has the title of Britain’s Best Cake winning the award of the same name while also picking up the Classic Cake Award as well!
We opened our first shop in November 2022, in Hoylake, Wirral. Since then, we have opened a new cafe & cake shop in Lower Bridge Street Chester. These are places for people to visit, buy some of my hand-crafted desserts and discuss cake designs for their special occasions.
After starting Abba Cakes in my native Colombia I later moved to Spain to study business administration and continue with my passion.
Today I call the UK my home and after managing a local café and developing a network of small businesses that sell my cakes, cookies and confectionary as well as catering for birthdays and weddings; I knew now was the time to step out and follow my dream in full by running my own dessert cake shop.
